Colorific announces series of UV Light technology briefings

Colorific UV Light RE 640 Colorific announces series of UV Light technology briefings

Colorific, the high quality, alternative ink supplier, has announced it will be hosting a series of briefings targeted at distributors and end users at its offices in Maidenhead to highlight its innovative UV Light ink technology.  The events will take place on 11th, 12th and 13th December 2012, between 10am and 5pm, and further dates will be announced in the New Year.

Colorific UV Light technology was launched at EcoPrint in September 2012 and demonstrated at the Autumn Viscom shows where it generated significant interest from end users, distributors and other potential business partners.  Colorific has already started working with two large machines integrators based in Europe and orders for UV Light demonstration units have already been placed.

Colorific UV Light enables wide format printer owners to convert their existing solvent printers to a greener UV solution.  Currently compatible with any Roland wide format machine that uses Epson Piezo DX4 and DX5 print head technologies, Colorific UV Light is a hybrid solution which combines the reliability of an eco solvent ink with the print performance of a UV ink.  The ink offers superb media adhesion and stunning durability, yet has a significantly lower carbon footprint than eco-solvent inks and contains no VOCs.

Colorific’s new UV Lightbar System is critical to the technology.  The system comprises an external, stand-alone lamp kit which fixes to the front of any compatible wide format printer.  During the printing process, the pigment is fixed to the ink-receiving layer on the media and then a secondary cure – using the new system – fixes the droplet and provides an immediate cure and cross link on the media.

Shaun Holdom, Business Manager for Colorific, comments, “We’ll be demonstrating this process on Roland RE and Roland RS printers at the technology briefing and will also run through a short presentation explaining the process in more detail.  Attendees will also have plenty of opportunity to discuss the technology in more depth with key members of Colorific’s team if there are any specific questions they would like addressed.”

Interested parties should register in advance by emailing shaun.holdom@colorificink.com as places are limited.  Refreshments will be served throughout the day.

The time is right for Colorific UV Light

Colorific, the high quality, alternative ink supplier, has announced a new ink that enables wide format printer owners to convert their existing solvent printers to a greener UV solution.  Branded Colorific UV Light, the ink will be demonstrated at a number of upcoming international events – including EcoPrint Show, the Viscom events and SGIA – and will be commercially available from November 2012.

Compatible with any Mimaki, Mutoh and Roland wide format machine that use Epson Piezo DX4 and DX5 print head technologies, Colorific UV Light is a hybrid solution which combines the reliability of an eco solvent ink with the print performance of a UV ink.

With the same basic chemical formulation as a standard eco-solvent ink, Colorific UV Light offers superb media adhesion and stunning durability.  However, it has a significantly lower carbon footprint than eco-solvent inks and contains no VOCs.

Shaun Holdom, Business Manager for Colorific, comments, “I believe that Colorific UV Light inks are the next generation in UV ink technology for the wide format market.  They allow print service providers to meet all their customers’ sign and graphics needs.  Plus, as there is no need for secondary lamination or coating, they can also save time and money on every print job.”

He continues, “The printed output is dry, robust and highly abrasion-resistant, yet has the glossy photographic finish achieved with standard solvent printing.”

Colorific’s new Smart UV Lightbar System is critical to the hybrid technology.

The printer requires no other modification and the inks are installed like any other ink, requiring a simple flush then a standard ink fill.

Colorific UV Light is available in CMYK, LC, LM as a standard set up for most machines and supplied in 440ml compatible cartridges and the relevant chip.  The ink system is a complete clean hands procedure and requires no additional maintenance other than documented when using the original ink from the machine manufacturer.

Colorific is actively seeking international resellers and partners to promote this ground-breaking new ink to the industry, with Shaun Holdom commenting, “We genuinely believe this ink will create an exciting new after-market for resellers, and a much more attractive price point for users looking to add UV class printing to their print production offering.”

Merger of Tech8 allows Colorific to drive forward with increased pace

colorific merger Merger of Tech8 allows Colorific to drive forward with increased pace

It has been announced today that technical support provider Tech8 will merge with Colorific, a supplier of cost-effective, high quality alternative inks.  The merger, due to be finalised on 1st June 2012, will strengthen Colorific’s research and development capabilities and expands on the strategic alliance announced between the two businesses last year.

Shaun Holdom, Colorific’s business manager, comments, “The ink market has changed substantially with the widespread acceptance of proven alternative ink solutions such as those offered by Colorific. The demand for our quality inks has grown rapidly and – on the back of this success – our partners are now pushing for us to broaden our portfolio with additional inks offering the same high levels of quality, reliability and proven ‘best in class’ credentials.

Shaun continues, “We saw the need for a dedicated R&D resource to add the necessary pace to fully exploit these opportunities – so the absorption of Tech8 as an in-house R&D facility can only help in achieving these goals.  It will also allow us to cut the time to market for any new inks, without compromising the excellent reputation of Colorific.”

Following the planned merger, the Tech8 brand will continue and sales activity will be focused on positioning Tech8 as a reliable and cost-effective wholesale provider of printer spares.

Justin Atkinson, business manager at Tech8, says, “With our engineering resource focused exclusively on Colorific R&D, we will free up a lot of administrative and commercial time to further develop our successful wide format printer spares business. We will be announcing, amongst other things, details of a new e-commerce platform in the near future and the continued development of our international partner channel.”

Tech8’s warranty business customers in the UK have already received notice that warranty cover will no longer be available as a service from Tech8 as of 1st June 2012. However, much work has been done in the background to provide contingency for these customers, with the option of continued service provision via a reputable and established alternative warranty provider. For customers choosing this option, the transition will be seamless – with no loss of service and no change in warranty costs.

Creation Signs & Displays becomes 70th RHG Colorific conversion

rhg promax Creation Signs & Displays becomes 70th RHG Colorific conversion

Northamptonshire-based Creation Signs & Displays has switched its Roland VersaCamm SP-540V wide format printer from OEM inks to Colorific ProMax and made ink cost savings of around 35%. This is the 70th Robert Horne Group customer to make the switch.

Founded in 2001, Creation Signs & Displays designs, manufactures and installs the full array of signage solutions from interior and exterior signage, through vehicle wrapping to exhibition and display products. The majority of Creation Signs & Displays’ clients come from the agricultural industries. Its client-base – which spans the UK and Ireland – includes AGCO, Stihl and Case IH to name a few.

Much of Creation Signs & Displays output is created on the Roland VersaCamm SP-540V wide format printer. However, as with all businesses, the company was looking to make savings and boost profit margins. To that end, the company spoke with Robert Horne Group to investigate the cost-savings that could be made by switching over to alternative ink solutions.

Robert Horne recommended that Creation Signs & Displays try Colorific Pro Max – a high quality, alternative ink solution. So confident is Colorific of its products, it recently announced a 100% satisfaction guarantee – or get your money back – on its Roland alternative inks.

Following testing on the Roland printheads and further discussion, the transition from OEM to Colorific ink was made in January 2012. On the process, Tim Jackson, sales manager at Creation Signs & Displays, comments, “It was incredibly straightforward. We literally took out the old Roland ink cartridges and plugged in the new Colorific ones.”

He continues, “There was no noticeable difference in the quality whatsoever and we’ve made ink cost savings in the region of 35%. I’d most definitely recommend that other companies make the switch across to Colorific inks.”

Josep Ribera comments, “In the current trading conditions, wide format printers owners are looking to make savings where they can but without compromising the quality of their output. Colorific inks – which typically allow users to make savings in the region of at least 30% compared to OEM products – meet these demands head on.”

He continues, “We are also looking at taking on Tech8, the technical support and spares provider, which will give customers added confidence during the transitioning process from OEM to Colorific ink.”

According to Shaun Holdom, Business Manager for Colorific, “Yet again, our ‘alternative inks made easy’ model is proving to be a real winner. At Viscom Germany, the company met a number of prospective partners and is now in the final stages of negotiation with a number of partners. Announcements of the appointment of these resellers will be made imminently.

Viscom Italy proved to be a showcase for Colorific’s newly opened Italian operations. A number of resellers have been lined to take on Colorific’s inks in Italy and to further develop the Italian market. Giuliano Marchesin, country manager for Italy, says, “We already have a number of key installations in and around Milan and are looking to expand throughout Italy.”

As well as the above exhibitions, Colorific has been busy supporting its business partners and co-hosting events. In October, it also attended an Open House event at BührmannUbbens premises in the Netherlands. BührmannUbbens is the third PaperlinX company to sign up for Colorific’s range of inks, alongside Robert Horne Group in the UK and iMedia in Australia. Negotiations are also ongoing with a number of other PaperlinX international operations.

Shaun Holdom, Business Development Manager for Colorific, concludes, “Ours is the first alternative ink solution to be widely adopted and accepted at corporate level – an achievement of which we are immensely proud.
